The People Behind
177 Years
Six generations of the Palmer family, and the technicians who carry the work forward every day.
Our Story
From Carriage Springs to Heavy-Duty Trucks
Palmer Spring's history began in 1849, when English springsmith Joseph Palmer established the J. Palmer's Carriage Spring Company in Boston. The business manufactured and repaired springs for horse-drawn carriages, including coaches produced by the renowned Abbot-Downing Company. As transportation evolved to commercial trucks and heavy equipment, generations of the Palmer family adapted their expertise to serve New England. More than 175 years later, Palmer Spring remains family-owned, with the sixth generation continuing a tradition of craftsmanship, technical knowledge, and dependable service.

What Sets Us Apart
The Tough Jobs Are What We Do
Some heavy-duty repairs aren't simple, and they're not the kind of work every shop wants to take on. That's where Palmer Spring has built its reputation. From complex suspension and driveline work to difficult steering, alignment and ride issues, we have the equipment and expertise to get to the root of the problem.
Just as important, we have the people. The experience and tenure of our team spans decades, with knowledgeable technicians who understand heavy-duty vehicles and know how to solve problems that don't always have an obvious answer. When the job gets complicated, experience matters.
